Today we will be taking a look at four cooperative board games that are currently on Kickstarter. If you like what you see, be sure to head on over to the game’s page to take advantage of all of the stretch goals and other perks!
Sentinels of Earth-Prime
Days Remaining: 16 | Current Status: Funded
Sentinels of Earth-Prime is a cooperative card game that recreates the pulse pounding action of superhero comics. It uses the rules of the hit game Sentinels of the Multiverse and the setting and characters of the critically acclaimed Mutants & Masterminds roleplaying game. Everything is 100% compatible with previous Sentinels of the Multiverse releases and decks can be mixed and matched as you desire.
Well, considering we’re huge fans of Sentinels of the Multiverse, we’re obviously looking forward to playing this one. They’ve already doubled their funding goal, so it seems like plenty of other people are, too.
Latest Update (4/28): Here you can check out all of the information on Dr. Metropolis, one of the heroes in the game.

Maximum Apocalypse
Days Remaining: 3 | Current Status: Funded
Maximum Apocalypse is a cooperative roguelike adventure game for 1-6 players. In Maximum Apocalypse, civilization has already fallen. The players are survivors of the apocalypse whose mission is to survive the hostile landscape.
Everyone loves campaign-style games these days, which might be one of the reasons why Maximum Apocalypse has done so well on Kickstarter. From everything I’ve read and watched so far, it seems like this game is going to have plenty of replayability.
Latest Update (April 29): Designer Mike Gnade talks about some of the newest stretch goals that have been added.

Fantasy Defense
Days Remaining: 19 | Current Status: Funded
Fantasy Defense is a challenging card game that can be played either solo or cooperatively. Manage your limited units to defeat the orcs besieging the seven gates of your city. Each attack you fail to repulse decreases your kingdom’s morale, drawing oblivion a step closer.
I love the artwork on the cards in this game. This also fits into the cooperative filler category (15-20 minutes per game), which is great considering there aren’t too many of those coming out anytime soon.
Latest Update (April 28): Read about some of the latest stretch goals that have been unlocked, including battle goats!

Diceborn Heroes
Days Remaining: 29 | Current Status: Not Funded Yet
Diceborn Heroes is a 1-4 player fantasy dice game similar to the old school JRPGs. Players control a party of heroes whose quests send them to far off lands facing monsters to protect innocent bystanders. They must band together to gain strength and defeat the evils that plagued the fair lands of Dievalice. After each encounter, players will have a chance to level up their classes and learn new skills, giving them more abilities and dice to use in the upcoming battles.
Deck building and dice rolling in a cooperative campaign game? Yeah, expect this one to be funded within a week.
Latest Update (April 29): The designer talks about a live stream he’ll be doing and gives some updates on the game’s stretch goals.
