This month we’re taking a look at three cooperative board games that are currently on Kickstarter. If you’re interested in any of the games, head on over to their pages to see all of the stretch goal goodness you will get if you pledge.
Onimaru
Current Status: Funded
Onimaru (Japanese for “demon circle”) is a fully cooperative game where you and your allies take up arms to defend a village against otherworldly invaders. You will win the game if you are able to destroy the three villainous Oni. However, if you fail to do so within the predetermined number of days (rounds), the Gate will remain open forever, and all of Japan will succumb to the shadow!
It’s easy to see why so many people have backed Onimaru. I’m always interested in games that allow players to customize their characters, and there seems to be a lot of that going on in this game. Plus, the custom dice look cool and I’m a big fan of the art style.

AVGhost Paranormal Investigation
Current Status: Funded
AVGhost: Paranormal Investigation is a cooperative game for 1 to 4 players, where you will take control of a team of paranormal investigators. All of them are part of a specialized agency that investigates and solves paranormal events and poltergeist.
If AVGhost ends up being a good game, it’s pretty much a lock to win some awards for innovation. I like that you don’t have to play the game in the dark if you don’t want to, but I will definitely be playing this game in the dark.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures City Fall
Current Status: Funded
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back with two games in the Adventures system that feature all new missions, minis, and enemies!
A couple of people in my group had a chance to play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of The Past and really enjoyed it, so we’ll definitely be playing (and reviewing) one or both of these games since they have co-op modes. In my opinion, they did a better job on the turtles’ miniatures this time around.
