Release: August 2020 | Players: 1-4 | Ages: 14+
From BGG:
The Stygian Society is a diceless dungeon crawl. Heroes work together to climb the cube tower, eliminating enemies as they work their way to the top and the tower’s master!
Players drop cubes into the tower based on which skills they select but also cubes for the enemies. Both players and the enemies act based on what drops out the bottom. Strong strategic team play will be critical to make it to the tower’s top floor.
I believe The Stygian Society is the first cooperative board game with a cube tower, and that would have been enough to get me interested in playing it. Well, it’s also designed by Kevin Wilson, who has created or helped create a bunch of solid co-op games, including Escape from 100 Million B.C. and Elder Sign. Yeah, so I am very excited to play this one.
For more info on The Stygian Society, check out its page at APE Games’ website, its Kickstarter page, or its BGG page. You can also preorder the game from Miniature Market and Game Nerdz.
