From IDW:
Designed by Richard Launius, the creator of Arkham Horror, Planet of the Apes puts 1-4 players on a crash course with feral foes, deadly environments, and unbridled psychological horror! In an innovative twist on the cooperative board game genre, each player takes control of one aspect of Colonel George Taylor’s psyche, and must work together to survive the Planet of the Apes!
There are so many reasons why I’m excited about this one:
- Richard Launius (Defenders of the Realm, Elder Sign) is a fantastic designer who regularly puts out great board games.
- IDW Games just recently put out one of our favorite co-op games of the last couple of years, Escape from 100 Million B.C..
- The original Planet of the Apes movie is most definitely the best in the series, so it’s great that they’re basing this tabletop game on that movie rather than one of the new ones.
- That “twist” on the co-op genre they mentioned seems awesome!
So yeah, I’m definitely looking forward to playing this game.
You can pre-order Planet of the Apes soon from CSI, and you can check out more info about the game at its BGG page.
