This month we’re taking a look at three cooperative board games that are currently on Kickstarter. If you’re interested in any of the games, head on over to their Kickstarter or BGG pages for more info (links included below).
Backwoods
Disaster struck the expedition, yet you made it out of the rapids to shore. Others weren’t as fortunate. Now, those of you that remain must carry on the mission: complete two objectives and make it to the fort. The only thing standing in your way is the cursed forest completely surrounding you.
I’m pretty much always interested in playing cooperative survival games, and Backwoods looks like it’s going to be a good one. I really like the game’s art style and its crafting system seems really cool.

The Night Cage
The Night Cage is a fully co-operative, horror-themed tile-placement game that traps 1-5 lost souls within an unnatural labyrinth of eternal darkness. To win, players must each collect a key, find a gate, and escape as a group.
The Night Cage looks like an extremely fun puzzle game. I’ve seen this type of tile placement in other co-ops, but in this one the tiles are removed from the board as you move away from them, which is something I haven’t seen before. I’m really looking forward to playing this game.

LEGACY: Quest for a Family Treasure
Inspired by live escape games, “LEGACY: Quest for a Family Treasure” is a narrative puzzle: a unique and immersive co-op investigation game you can play at home. Use observation and deduction to solve puzzles, decipher codes and experience alternate reality gaming.
I’m not as interested in escape room games these days (I’ve played a lot of them in recent years), but LEGACY does look like it’s going to be a good one. The designers obviously spent a lot of time creating this game and I like that it comes with a bunch of unique components that you use to solve the puzzles.
