Cooperative Board Games on Kickstarter – January 29, 2018

board games on kickstarter 0129

This month we’re taking a look at five cooperative board games that are currently on Kickstarter. If you’re interested in any of the games, head on over to their pages to see all of the stretch goal goodness you will get if you pledge.

Nemesis

Days Remaining:| Current Status: Funded

Nemesis is a 1-5 player survival sci-fi game where players are woken up from hibernation as a crew of a space ship. The emergency procedure states that there is a critical system failure and the space ship can’t continue its cruise. The goal of the crew is to find what is causing this failure and fix the situation to safely return back to Earth. Nemesis is a cooperation game combined with bluffing, backstabbing, and other elements of a science-fiction survival horror adventure.

This one flew up to the top of The Hotness rankings on BGG thanks to some very positive previews. Awaken Realms have put out some very nice games recently, so I’m fully expecting Nemesis to be a hit.

Tiny Epic Zombies

Days Remaining: 10| Current Status: Funded

In Tiny Epic Zombies, survivors are always on the run, collecting weapons, killing Zombies and working toward completing objectives. Completing 3 objectives can win you the game but if you’re too focused on the objectives, the Zombies will overrun the mall and that will be the end of you. Based on the mode of play, you will either play as one of the Survivors or as the Zombies.

The Tiny Epic series has a pretty huge fan base, so it’s not surprising that this one funded so quickly. There seems to be a lot of game in this tiny box, including competitive and co-op modes, so the low price point is definitely attractive. I’m not a big fan of zombie games, but this one looks pretty good.

Rambo: The Board Game

Days Remaining: 23 | Current Status: Funded

Rambo: The Board Game is a thematic, cooperative, tactical, miniatures, scenario-based campaign game that allows 1-4 players to experience the events they remember from the film as well as embark on new, never-before-seen missions.

I’m glad they decided to go the campaign route with this one. A couple of people in my group are huge Rambo fans, so we’ll definitely be playing and reviewing it.

UBOOT

Days Remaining: 16 | Current Status: Funded

UBOOT: The Board Game is a fully cooperative, real-time tabletop game of WW2 submarine warfare. It allows 1 to 4 players to assume the roles of the Captain, the First Officer, the Navigator, and the Chief Engineer on board of a type VIIC U-boat. The game is driven by a companion app, allowing for an unprecedented level of realism, as well as a challenging enemy A.I. which will push your skills to the limit.

Early reviews suggest that this was more than just an excuse to make a cool-looking cardboard submarine. It kind of looks like a fully co-op Captain Sonar with a World War II theme. Can’t wait to play it!

Planet Apocalypse

Days Remaining: 28 | Current Status: Not Funded Yet

Planet Apocalypse is a cooperative game. The players battle and kill demons as a team. The game is primarily a battle game, but also has a tower-defense element, and a roleplaying element as you build up your heroes over time.

The miniatures and the map tiles look pretty awesome. It also looks like there will be a ton of content in the box, so I’m looking forward to playing this one.
