Valve tracks the Pico Neo 3 on its own line at 0.76%. The two Pico entries are separate rows in the survey and Valve does not publish a combined brand figure.
The pool is small. Only 1.71% of surveyed Steam accounts reported any VR headset in July 2026, down 0.02 points on June. Model-level context sits in these Meta Quest 3 shipment numbers and the matching data on the cheaper Quest 3S.

Pico has moved in a narrow band since the start of 2025. The 10% reading in Q3 2024 is the high point of the series, and the 3% in Q4 2024 the low.

Pico Against the Chasing Pack
Excluding Meta, four vendors have traded the next places. RayNeo and VITURE both climbed across the seven quarters while Pico and Sony stayed flat.

PICO 4 Headset Sales Inside a Shrinking Category
Global VR headset shipments fell 17% year over year and 39% quarter over quarter in Q1 2026. Counterpoint attributes the weakness to a lack of new product launches and other market stimulus.
AR smart glasses moved the other way in the same quarter, up 136% year over year while falling 23% quarter over quarter. Buyers stayed in the category and bought a different form factor.
Meta has told the market it plans to cut Reality Labs expenses by up to 30% amid layoffs, while stating it is not exiting VR. Headset usage remains a small slice of a market where most play happens on flat screens, as the wider video game statistics show.
PICO 4 Headset Sales Timeline and Launch Pricing
Pico announced the PICO 4 in Barcelona on 22 September 2022 and put it on sale on 18 October in thirteen European countries, with Japan, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia planned for the same year.
The PICO 4 Ultra followed two years later. Pico opened EU pre-orders on 6 September 2024 and began sales on 20 September across fourteen European markets.

Regional scope differs by product line. Pico’s consumer launch markets for the PICO 4 did not include the United States. For the PICO 4 Ultra Enterprise, Pico does list North American distribution partners, including Exertis, PNY, Liquid PC and VR Expert.
What Follows PICO 4 Headset Sales in 2026
Pico’s next flagship, teased in March 2026 as Project Swan and since named PICO Space Pro, was set for a Beijing launch event on 2 September 2026. Pico cancelled it.
On 25 August 2026 the company said it was moving the release to Q4 2026 to spend more time on a major upgrade to the software experience. Pico is expanding a closed beta in the meantime.
Announced hardware is limited to a feature list. Pico describes microOLED panels approaching 4,000 pixels per inch, an average of roughly 40 pixels per degree, and a dual-chip design pairing custom XR silicon at a claimed 12 ms perception latency with a separate SoC. No price has been published.
