Nintendo eShop Sales
How Big Are Nintendo eShop Sales Right Now?
Digital sales hit ¥132.7 billion in the three months to 30 June 2026. Nintendo puts the rise down to higher sales of downloadable versions of packaged software and the weaker yen.
The digital ratio reached 61.5% of dedicated video game platform software sales, 2.2 points above the 59.3% posted a year earlier.
That is not the peak. January to March 2026 recorded 67.2%, the highest reading in the nine quarters Nintendo lists in its current reference materials.
The release calendar moves the number more than any trend does. October to December 2025 carried the largest digital revenue of the FY2026 quarters at ¥126.5 billion and the lowest share at 46.1%.

Digital grew while the platform shrank. Dedicated video game platform sales fell 13.1% to ¥483.0 billion in the quarter, and total net sales fell 9.5% to ¥517.8 billion, both driven by lower hardware units.
Currency carries part of the gain. Nintendo’s average rate for the quarter was ¥159.38 to the US dollar, against ¥144.48 a year earlier. Comparable download-share reporting from Sony appears in these PlayStation Store digital sales figures.
Nintendo eShop Sales By Fiscal Year
Digital sales came to ¥407.6 billion across FY2026, the 12 months to 31 March 2026, up 25.0% year on year. Nintendo translates that as USD 2,563 million in its Annual Report 2026, at ¥159 to the dollar.
FY2025 produced ¥326.0 billion at a 53.5% ratio. Revenue moved 25.0% between the two years; the ratio moved 1.1 points.
The two lines run independently. FY2026 added Switch 2 volume to the software base, and Nintendo credits the annual increase to downloadable versions of packaged software, add-on content and download-only software.
What Nintendo Counts Inside eShop Sales
Four things sit in the digital sales line: downloadable versions of packaged software, download-only software, add-on content, and Nintendo Switch Online. Membership counts for that service are tracked in these Nintendo Switch Online subscriber statistics.
Downloadable versions of packaged games supplied 63.3% of digital sales in April to June 2026, against 52.2% across FY2026.
Software bundled with hardware is excluded. Nintendo books bundled titles such as Mario Kart World entirely as hardware revenue, so those copies count as units but never enter the digital figure.
