Amazon Luna vs GeForce Now User Comparison 2026: Reach, Libraries, Pricing and Playtime
GeForce NOW members have streamed more than 1 billion hours since the service launched in February 2020, NVIDIA said on its sixth anniversary in February 2026. Amazon has never published an equivalent number for Luna. This comparison lines up what both companies actually disclose about reach, libraries, pricing and playtime, using figures published by NVIDIA and Amazon themselves.
Amazon Luna vs GeForce Now: Key Numbers
How Many People Use Amazon Luna vs GeForce Now?
Neither company publishes a current user count, so the honest answer is that no verified head-to-head user comparison exists for 2026.
NVIDIA’s last published membership figure was more than 25 million members, stated in its third-anniversary blog post in February 2023. Since then NVIDIA has reported engagement instead: 175 million cumulative hours at year one, 700 million at year three, and over 1 billion at year six.
Amazon reports neither members nor hours for Luna. It reports the size of the pool Luna sits inside, which is a different measurement entirely.
| Disclosure | Amazon Luna | GeForce NOW |
|---|---|---|
| User or member count | Not published | 25 million+ members, February 2023 |
| Hours streamed | Not published | 1 billion+ since February 2020, February 2026 |
| Access model | Included with Prime | Standalone signup, free tier available |
| Stated audience size | 200 million+ paid Prime members | Not published |

Amazon’s one engagement claim is that 95% of Prime households include someone who loves games, attributed to Luna general manager Jeff Gattis. That describes household composition, not people who opened Luna. Single-platform breakdowns sit in these Amazon Luna user statistics and GeForce Now subscriber figures.
Amazon Luna vs GeForce Now Game Libraries
The catalog gap is wide and the two counts describe different products. GeForce NOW streams games members already own on Steam, Epic, GOG, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, EA app and Xbox. Luna licenses a curated set and includes it in the membership fee.
NVIDIA’s library reached over 4,500 titles across Ready-to-Play and Install-to-Play, with 2,200-plus Install-to-Play Steam games reserved for paid members.
| Library measure | Amazon Luna | GeForce NOW |
|---|---|---|
| Included at no extra cost | 50+ games with Prime | None; members bring their own |
| Total streamable catalog | Not published | 4,500+ titles |
| Premium-only tier | Luna Premium library | 2,200+ Install-to-Play titles |
| Local multiplayer collection | GameNight, 25+ titles | Not offered |

GameNight uses a phone as the controller through a QR code and targets living-room group play, an audience GeForce NOW does not serve. Amazon names Hogwarts Legacy, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and TopSpin 2K25 among the Prime titles.
What Luna Removed in 2026
Amazon narrowed Luna sharply this year. From April 10, 2026 the service stopped offering game stores, individual purchases and third-party subscriptions.
Previously purchased titles stayed playable through June 10, 2026, then were removed. Bring Your Own Library ended on the same date, and the EA, Ubisoft and GOG storefronts were pulled from the platform. That leaves two tiers: Luna Standard with Prime, and Luna Premium.

Amazon Luna vs GeForce Now Pricing in 2026
Both companies landed on $9.99 for their entry paid gaming tier. The surrounding math differs because Luna Premium sits on top of Prime rather than replacing it.
| Plan | Monthly | 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| Prime, includes Luna Standard | $14.99 | $139 |
| Luna Premium add-on | $9.99 | Not published |
| GeForce NOW Performance | $9.99 | $99.99 |
| GeForce NOW Ultimate | $19.99 | $199.99 |

A Prime member adding Luna Premium pays $24.98 a month at monthly rates. That runs above Ultimate’s $19.99, though the Prime portion also carries shipping, Prime Video and Amazon Music.
NVIDIA cut 12-month plans by 35% between June 11 and July 8, 2026, taking Performance to $64.99 and Ultimate to $129.99. That promotion has ended. Amazon also sells discounted Prime: $7.49 a month for young adults and $6.99 for Prime Access. Broader spending patterns appear in these cloud gaming market size statistics.
India Pricing
NVIDIA opened GeForce NOW to all Indian users on July 15, 2026, ending a three-month beta. Performance runs ₹999 a month and Ultimate ₹1,999, with day passes at ₹399 and ₹799 and UPI payment support. Luna has no India presence.

GeForce Now Playtime Caps vs Luna’s Uncapped Prime Access
This is the sharpest structural split between the two services. GeForce NOW meters playtime. Luna does not publish any allowance.
Performance and Ultimate members get 100 hours of playtime per billing month, with up to 15 unused hours rolling into the next. NVIDIA said when it announced the allowance in November 2024 that the limit comfortably accommodates 94% of members.
| Usage measure | Amazon Luna | GeForce NOW |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly playtime allowance | None published | 100 hours, 15-hour rollover |
| Members within the allowance | Not applicable | 94%, per NVIDIA |
| Extra playtime cost | Not applicable | $2.99 per 15 hours on Performance, $5.99 on Ultimate |
| Lifetime exemption | Not applicable | Founders members, if unlapsed |

The grandfathering window closed this year. Members who subscribed before January 15, 2026 kept unlimited playtime only until their first billing date after that, per NVIDIA’s FAQ. Founders who started a paid membership on or before March 17, 2021 keep unlimited playtime for life. Since April 30, 2026, members who exhaust their hours still reach Install-to-Play games. Comparable metering questions come up in these Xbox Cloud Gaming usage figures.
Amazon Luna vs GeForce Now Country and Device Reach
Reach runs in opposite directions depending on what is measured. Luna’s cloud-delivered games cover 14 countries. GeForce NOW runs directly from NVIDIA across North America, Europe, Japan and India, plus GeForce NOW Alliance partner regions.
| Reach measure | Amazon Luna | GeForce NOW |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud streaming markets | 14 countries | North America, Europe, Japan, India, plus Alliance regions |
| Newest market | None added since October 2025 | India, July 15, 2026 |

Amazon’s 14 markets are the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium and Luxembourg. Comcast added Luna to eligible Xfinity X1 and Xumo Stream Box devices on December 11, 2025, with Rogers doing the same in Canada.
NVIDIA took its native Linux app out of beta on August 13, 2026 and now offers eligible new Chromebook and Chromebook+ owners a year of GeForce NOW at no cost through Chromebook Fast Pass. Device breadth across the category is tracked in these cross-platform gaming adoption rates.
