Apple Arcade Subscribers Statistics 2026

Apple has never published an Apple Arcade subscriber count. The only user figure ever attached to the service is roughly 2 million in its first year, reported by The Information in March 2025 and describing 2019.
What can be checked is everything around that gap: Apple’s total paid subscriptions, the price, the catalog, and the counts rivals do publish. This report collects those figures with dates and sources.
Apple Arcade Subscribers: Key Figures
How Many Apple Arcade Subscribers Does Apple Report?
None. Apple folds Arcade into a single company-wide paid subscriptions number and has never broken it out on an earnings call, in a press release, or in an SEC filing.
Tim Cook said Apple passed 1.5 billion paid subscriptions in the quarter ended 27 June 2026. Apple crossed 1 billion in the quarter ended 1 July 2023. Both totals mix Apple’s own services with third-party App Store subscriptions, so neither bounds Arcade with any precision.
Services revenue is the cleaner series but no more specific. Arcade sits inside a segment that also carries the App Store, iCloud, Apple Music, Apple TV, advertising and payment services.
Apple Services net sales by quarter
| Fiscal quarter | Quarter ended | Services net sales |
|---|---|---|
| Q2 FY2025 | 29 Mar 2025 | $26.65 billion |
| Q3 FY2025 | 28 Jun 2025 | $27.42 billion |
| Q4 FY2025 | 27 Sep 2025 | $28.75 billion |
| Q1 FY2026 | 27 Dec 2025 | $30.01 billion |
| Q2 FY2026 | 28 Mar 2026 | $30.98 billion |
| Q3 FY2026 | 27 Jun 2026 | $30.74 billion |

Apple Arcade Subscribers Against Services That Publish Counts
Three rival services have named a figure at least once. Apple never has. Each number below is the most recent count the operator itself stated, and the gaps between disclosure dates are wide enough that no current ranking is supportable.
Nintendo is the only one with a count taken in the past year. Microsoft’s stands from February 2024 and includes Game Pass Core accounts. Sony’s dates from 2023, and its tier splits and churn picture has moved since.
| Service | Latest official count | As of | Disclosed by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Arcade | None published | — | No disclosure to date |
| PlayStation Plus | 47.4 million | 31 Mar 2023 | Sony financial results |
| Xbox Game Pass | 34 million | Feb 2024 | Sarah Bond, Official Xbox Podcast |
| Nintendo Switch Online | 34 million | 30 Sep 2025 | Nintendo results briefing |

Nintendo’s 34 million was flat against the prior year, a pattern set out in these Switch Online membership figures. Microsoft’s silence since 2024 is covered in the Game Pass reporting history, and the two console services are set against each other in this head-to-head subscriber comparison.
The global ceiling on Apple Arcade subscribers
Omdia forecast 168 million paid game subscriptions worldwide by the end of 2024, excluding in-game subscriptions, against $19 billion in spending. It put Microsoft and Sony together at 82 million in the games library segment.
Omdia projects 203 million subscriptions and more than $27 billion by 2028, or 14% of total global game spending. Everything Apple Arcade holds sits inside those totals without a line of its own.
| Segment | 2024 spending |
|---|---|
| Games library services | $8 billion |
| In-game and single-game subscriptions | $7.4 billion |
| Platform access subscriptions | $3.7 billion |

What Apple Arcade Subscribers Pay in 2026
Arcade’s own price has not moved in almost three years. Apple raised it from $4.99 to $6.99 a month on 25 October 2023, the first and only change since the 2019 launch.
The bundle around it did move. On 17 July 2026 Apple raised Apple One Family by $2 and Premier by $2, holding Individual flat, and attributed the increase to rising Apple Music licensing costs.
| Plan | US list price | Last change |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Arcade monthly | $6.99 per month | 25 Oct 2023 |
| Apple Arcade annual | $49.99 per year | 25 Oct 2023 |
| Apple One Individual | $19.95 per month | Unchanged on 17 Jul 2026 |
| Apple One Family | $27.95 per month | 17 Jul 2026, from $25.95 |
| Apple One Premier | $39.95 per month | 17 Jul 2026, from $37.95 |

Apple’s own Arcade press release of 11 August 2026 still lists Apple One Family at $25.95 and Premier at $37.95, the pre-July figures. The boilerplate had not been updated three weeks after the change.
What Apple Arcade Subscribers Get for the Money
Apple counted more than 50 new Arcade games launched during calendar 2025 and over 500 updates to existing titles, naming SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit 2, PGA TOUR Pro Golf, PowerWash Simulator and Cult of the Lamb among the additions.
The catalog descriptor has barely moved through it. Apple’s August 2026 press release still says 200+ games, and five more are dated 3 September 2026: Block Blast!+, Art of Fauna: Cozy Puzzles+, NFL Retro Bowl ’27, Coloring Games for Families+ and Let’s Play! Oink Games+.
Every title arrives with no ads and no in-app purchases, which separates Arcade structurally from the free-to-play mobile market it competes inside. Arcade Originals run on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro; App Store Greats are limited to iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro.
Why Apple Arcade Subscriber Numbers Stay Hidden
The Information reported in March 2025 that Arcade would be unlikely to turn a profit as a standalone product and leans on Apple One for its economics. MobileGamer.biz summarised the same reporting.
That framing is the outlet’s, not Apple’s. Apple has made no statement about Arcade’s profitability, and the 1.5 billion subscription total gives no way to separate bundle access from standalone signups.
Publisher-owned services face the same reporting habit, with EA Play’s last named figure also years old. The wider spending context sits in these gaming revenue totals and the broader video game industry figures.
FAQs
How many Apple Arcade subscribers are there in 2026?
Apple has not published a figure. The only count on record is about 2 million users in the service’s first year, reported by The Information in March 2025, with roughly a quarter of those on free trials.
Do Reddit threads have accurate Apple Arcade subscriber numbers?
No. Reddit discussions circulate the same 2 million first-year figure from The Information’s March 2025 report. Apple has released nothing else, so any larger number posted there is unsourced.
How much does Apple Arcade cost?
$6.99 a month or $49.99 a year in the US, unchanged since 25 October 2023. One subscription covers a family of up to six, with no ads and no in-app purchases in any game.
Is Apple Arcade cheaper inside Apple One, as Reddit users suggest?
Apple One bundles Arcade with other services rather than pricing it separately. Individual is $19.95 a month, Family $27.95 and Premier $39.95 following the 17 July 2026 increase.
How many games does Apple Arcade have?
Apple states 200+ games as of its August 2026 press release. It launched more than 50 new titles in 2025 and released over 500 updates to existing games that year.
